Grandma & Grandpa Bues as newlyweds, right after the Justice of the Peace ceremony 12/24/48 |

Grandma and Grandpa's wedding picture, 24 December 1948 |

This is a picture from the War Years when young women pinned their hair up. It seems to be from a set from some of Grandma and Grandpa’s early dates, probably 1943 or 1944. Grandma still had those patterned shorts when I was a teen and I wore them, too, but I blew out the back seam and they got turned into potholders. She only weighed 97 pounds when this picture was taken. |

Grandma called this her "Scarlett O'Hara" dress. It was a deep emerald green velvet with Battenburg lace. She wore it for the Bendix Christmas Dance just before their wedding. |

Grandma and Grandpa by the Shore house in the spring of 1949. |

Grandma on the "back steps" (the ones away from the water) That’s the "new kitchen" behind her attached to the house and the water of Bear Creek in the background. |

Grandma at the Shore in the early ‘80's. Grandma sitting on the steps of the sleeping porch. See the green hexagonal shingles? That’s the pear tree in front of her and the large boxwood and lilac to the left of the picture. |

Grandma on the water steps leading down to the pier. The grape arbor had been taken down by that point. The linden tree is on the left border of the picture and the sycamore on the right. |

This picture was labeled "My New Kitchen". It seems to be from early in 1949 and would have been in the kitchen of the house on Dartmouth Avenue. |

This is from a Christmas early in the 50’s, presents to each other. I remember all of those books. When I packed up Grandma’s library as she moved out here they were all still on the shelves. The rug on the floor is the same one from her dining room today and do you see her favorite Whitman’s sampler in the bottom left corner of the picture? That was always her favorite, even though they had to be sugar-free for most of this last decade. |

This picture seems to be from the winter of 53/54 when Grandma and Grandpa took a trip somewhere. See her hat, gloves & beaver coat? |
